Hey im making a timer using ne555 ic and when i made the circuit on bread board it worked fine and tried to transfer it to vero board and it dindnt work is there any reson why it didnt work i checked the traks for solder but there wasn't any

    Hi there wen
    Welcome to EP :)

you must have made a mistake in the wiring when you transferred it to the veroboard
show us a couple of sharp and well lit pics of both sides of the veroboard construction

That's just the layout, do you have an actual circuit diagram ? did it come from a www site ?

but even from that I see several obvious wiring errors ( there may be more)

    1) pin 4 should also be going to +V along with pin 8
    2) there's 2 resistors on there with no values
    3) There most likely is supposed to be a resistor between pns 7 and 6

anyway get us the original circuit diag and/or www site you got this project from

    cheers

If the output(pin 3) is connected to a transistor base, you will need a resistor in there otherwise it will cook the 555, probably the transistor also.
Very difficult to follow your layout...can you not just draw a basic circuit of what you have?

As Davenn says, the reset (pin 4) should be held high (connect to positive rail)
I see you have 6.8uf capacitor, which, if you still use the 1 meg resistor (cannot see the value you used) will give timing at around 7.5 seconds.
What is connected to " puzzle" wiring..??
    Also see #6.
Can you see the need to supply an "as built" drawing??
Perhaps you know what is connected to what but others are just guessing.

    Reference for 555 circuits..... http://www.talkingelectronics.com/projects/50 - 555 Circuits/50 - 555 Circuits.html

"To puzzle" is a switch that turns on the timing and flasher circuit . Yes its a 1 meg resistor and thats aproximitly the timing i want .

Switch will have to be momentry contact normally open .....
plus above advice...no idea what second part of your circuit is supposed to do.
You need to do some reading really. The above site is very good.
