Mystery part please help

Can anyone help me identify this part
I'm pretty ignorant and don't even have the beginning of a clue to what it might be

I see it is "suitable for execrable environment", where would you find one of those?

I'm with poor mystic, where did it come from?
It looks more like some kind of sensor, than a connector.

I have no idea where it came from
My neighbor who was an electrician died and I ended up with a bit of his stuff
It wasn't joint to anything else so I don't know what it's off

Thanks heaps, the link you posted showed to be exactly the same as what I've got

The part might be used in automatic equipment to detect an object coming down a conveyor belt, for instance.
