mylar ribbon connector grief

i have a lcd display that wasn't working due to a bad connection from
its mylar ribbon connector to the pcb
it was just stuck there with adheisive to the pads on the board can i
reattach it? with what?
p.s. the conductors in the ribbon are not wire they are some sort of
black conductive plastic or paint

try replaceing it with small hook up wire
and a fine pointed soldering iron low wattage.

and solder to what? the pads are no problem..but you cant solder to the
display or mylar stripes!

can you replace the ribbin cable with hookup wire?

no... the ribbon goes directly into the glass sandwich display

can you get a replacement if all else fails.

ribbon strait into display i see, that is bad
made to force peaple to pay more money.

i suppose the odds of being able to find a replacement are about 0 , so
i guess its toss it in the garbage time...i just hoped someone would
know how to re-attach the ribbon to the pads

Perhaps carefully applying some of the conductive paint used for rear
window defrosters might work. It conducts and might work ok to glue
the traces down.
