Hi guys I have a multimeter UT136 and has a fault on the frequency measuring.
Any one knows what's wrong in the circuit on this multimeter?
Thanks

What signal are you putting into it?

Have you read the comments under the following review? Someone says frequency "doesn't work"; perhaps they didn't use a high enough input voltage.

Hi Kris
Thanks for response. I'm using a 9v to a 555 circuit frequency generator.
I think on it's specifications says that to 10v it can handle on frequency option.
Thanks

That should be fine.

And you're sure the 555 is oscillating?

Do you know the frequency and duty cycle, roughly?

Does the meter simply display 0 for the frequency?

There could be a fault but without a schematic it wouldn't be feasible to locate it.

Yes I tried the 555 on another circuit.

I think it's a sinewave.Don"t know the duty cycle

Yes only 0000

Yes schematic would be a need : /

Yeah. I think the chance of finding a schematic for that meter is going to be about zero.

Could be, but not necessarily. I wouldn't want to guess. But you can't replace the chip anyway, and the meter is cheap. So just don't use the frequency range.
