MSP430 anyone?

Just got the USB version, eZ430-2013 Development tool, but It's not
being rocognized by my PCs. Can anyone help?
I just emailed TI, and while I wait for reply, thought I'ld ask here.
I followed all installation instructions.
When I plug it in USB, it's recognized as a MSP-FET430UIF JTAG device,
then up pops the Hardware Wizard looking for a driver. I browse to
where TI says to, but to no avail.

What do you mean by not recognized? If you mean the "...has not passed
Windows testing..." screen just blow past it by clicking "continue anyway"

Check to see that the (virtual) COM port assigned by IAR isn't used by
another device that may be connected to your PC. Some USB devices may
behave the same way as the TI programmer in that they are really
camouflaged serial port devices.

It doesn't get that far. It can't find the driver to get to that
point.

In Device Manager, it shows up under "Other Devices - MSP-FET430UIF
JTAG Tool" .

If your IAR installation doesn't have it at the location where TI says
it should be then I'd use the CD. Go to page 10:

Thanks, but I've been doing that. I can't get past step 6. I used the
default installation location and browse to the folder, but nothing.
Here's whats in the driver/WinXP folder:
umpf3410.i51
umpf5052.i51
umpCompXP.cat
umpusbp.cat
430CDC.inf
UmpCompXP.inf
UmpusbXP.inf
UmpusbXP.sys

Am I missing something?

Hmm, no, that's pretty much what is in my directory as well and it
worked. Very puzzling. Let's see what TI says.

AS with other types of USB's
Did you first install the software package before plugging in the
device?
Normally it's requested that you first install the software so that
windows gets the driver database updated././
You may need to reboot.. IN which case you then insert the device.

I've heard of other people having problems with that kit. Mine
installed OK, though, on my main PC and on my laptop.
