Mounting a PCB to a watch band?

Anyone got any good ideas on how to directly attach a PCB to a strap
like a watch band?
I'm thinking of some sort of surface mount clip that can be attached
to the bottom of the board, and the watch band is passed through two
of those clips.
I've seen safety pin style clips that mount on the back of those
"flashing tie pin" type novelty boards but don't know where to get
them, that might be a starting point at least.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks
Dave.

This link shows how to mount a watchband directly to a housing, not a pcb.

Perhaps you could work out something similar for your project?

How about a vecro wrist strap and a piece of velcro glued under the
PCB.

Or a velcro strap that threads between two slots, one each on the top
and bottom edges of the circuit board. (That way you won't need
glue.) -mpm

Solder ribbon cable to one end of board and mating connectors to
other end of board and cable; wrap around wrist and plug 'em in.
(cable doesn't have to actually do anything electrical)

Can't get much geekier than that.

a couple of bent pieces of zinc(or gold, silver, etc) plated steel wire
soldered through-hole and the strap passed through them.

(like wire jumpers but formed so they have some clearance underneath
for the strap.

Yeah, that was my original idea, but it turns out I probably don't
have the room on the board for the slots top and bottom.

Just realised I might be able to put a slot on the top and bottom of
the PCB and then carefully drill holes in the side walls of the slots
for regular watch band pins. Might be too fiddly though...

Love it!

Don't know if I'd want to do it, but great idea none the less!

Thanks

I have used 2 methods for this with good results:
- pot the board in a block of epoxy having notches and holes for
standard wristwatch pins; looks nice but needs a mold.
- use large (but thin-wall) heat shrink tubing to attach the board
directly to a one piece velcro watch band. I wrapped the board in
foam padding first for protection. This is really quick and easy and
was actually more comfortable to wear then the potted version.

Dave.

Why not just get one of those large face wristwatches at a flea market.
Take out the guts and put you PCB into it? Even cut out the bottom if
need be, and have a hollow ring with all of the wrist band gizmos
already in place and professionally made. Make your PCB circular to fit
into it. Or square, if you find a cheap wristwatch with a square face.
