More woes driving LEDs via PWM

Power on the FET's gate in reverse with an NPN bipolar transistor driving them with a pullup tied to 5VDC that should be enough to have them normally on and use the transistor to turn them off but bringing the gate voltage to Vsat of the transistor.

I'm confused; did you initially intend to merely drive the LED arrangement; you imply the Arduino was an attempt at a solution.
So the question might have been why don't the LED's light up when supplied with the specified voltage & (constant) current - obtained from the makers specs?
Why turn on lights with mosfets?
