I got a system with the message of "No Communication from Control Panel" on
the keypad. The books say nothing about this, and ive never seen this
before. I think the system is shot, but anyone have any ideas on this?
Obviosuly im going to check the system before I do anything, but maybe
somebody knows why / how this message came about.

Sounds like you have a Z-1100ST keypad connected to a Z-100 control? The
LCD keypad won't work with a Z-1100, you need a Z-1100E

Check the keypad wires for open, short, and ground. Otherwise, unless the
board's fried I donno. Never seen that message either. I bet Rojas will
know though.

Could be a fried keypad as well as the board. If you have more than one
keypad, disconnect them one at a time and see what happens.

The data circuit is open between the panel and the keypad.
Or the keypad is kaput.

.. If not, contact Jim Rojas for spare parts. He has
every discontinued part since they installed the trap doors in Tutankhamen's
tomb.
