How con I modify this http://embedded-lab.com/blog/?p=5515 so it turns on 2 triacs to control a 240v heater and a cooling fan I was thinking of connecting the gate of the triacs to the output for the heat and cooling leds will it work ?

This is the design I was thinking of using for the triac

Don't mess with the high voltage circuit.

The cheap way: connect the heater and the fan in parallel. As long as the combined power is less than the triac can handle, you're fine.

The safe way: build this circuit twice and connect the inputs of the photocouplers (pins 2 and 2) in parallel. This gives you maximum decoupling of the two circuits, so if one fails, the other won't be harmed.

Note that you may have to add a heat sink to the triacs.
