I know it's possible to set up a PDA to use a mobile phone to dial out
(because I've done it), but now I'm looking for a slightly simpler solution
    to a different problem...

Ideally I'd like to hook up a relay to a phone so that it dials out when the
contacts are made. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks for that. I think I might also be able to use a two way radio. It
looks like these will be easier to set up and cheaper.

In case you are wondering.... I'm helping with a model flying event that
needs to charge lots of 12 V batteries overnight. I'm trying to think of an
easy way to detect a power glitch in the middle of the night as the RCD used
for safety will drop out and won't automatically reset. The problem is the
battery store is 1,000 meters from the accommodation.

I've readed Tim Auton ([email protected][groupSexWithoutTheY]) 's post and...
And for Nokia phones it's easy to find stuff on the Internet. Google "gnokii".
