I was trying to look up my Harman Kardon HK 3400 Receiver on Google Image search and i noticed that a different model kept popping up that looked totally different. I finally saw a model that looked exactly like mine, but its marked HK 3470. Is mine a rare misprint or what?

There is indeed an older HK3400 model (circa 1991) stereo receiver which looks different .
You should contact Harman Kardon company for answers here

About 10 years ago, I went redface at a Fry's electronics store when I found a receiver faceplate with its silkscreen printed as "Harman/Kradon". (or something like that) Took a picture, but cannot find it now. Seems it was immediately recalled and corrected.
I worked at a Harman factory for 13 years before that...
