Any one here can tell me there feeling about what would be the minimum
number of operator in a central station that have around 14k client?

  2. Ul requires 2 minimum operators for small central check with UL as
they have a formula for how many operators must be present per so many
    accounts.

Thanks for the infi Nick, the only problem is that the central is in
Canada..(but they do supervise some US client)

I will check With ULC if they have the same type of formula..

But while we are at it.. Would you feel confortable if your monitoring
station would have only one operator on site from 1500 to 1700 on a week day
and at the same time there was a snow storm outside..

dont assume that its because one operator was not able to come.. there was
no one program beside the guy that was allready there..

I'm pretty sure they need at least two at all times, but I thought the
formula was not necessarily how many accounts/operator, but rather that a
certain % of alarm signals had to be handled by an operator within a set
period of time after it was received, 45 seconds???

    IMO one is never enough.

    Are you including pets???

  7. ULC should have similar requirements and 1 is never enough.

Aux contraire... One cat *IS* enough.

I believe it is one person dedicated to handling strickly alarm activity and
a second person that can have split responsiblities, such as data entry and
alarm activity, filing in at breaks etc. I am not so sure that OSHA might
not have a say about just one person (employee) working in a building by
    themselves. Just a thought.

To be compliant at all times, do what ADT & Brinks does...hire CS
operators with multiple personality disorders... :)

Ummmm ..... well what if the Receiver is on the night stand beside
    your bed?

I have a nice Surgard SLR on my desk. The only thing keeping me from
obtaining a UL Certified Rating for monitoring is that my Surgard only
    has a single line... :)

  13. What in the name of the fat rat's snatch is "strickly"? I'll let you
off with a warning for "responsiblities" but "strickly" cannot be
    overlooked.
    5 point deduction.
    Feel the shame :)

I could lie and say it was a test to see if you were still on the ball but I
won't. Spell check may have missed it since strick is a word even though
strickly isn't (my error) but yet stricken is. I don't sit and read what I
type in most cases when posting to the NG. Get the thought out and get on
with life. At least you forced me to use the spell check feature. One only
has so many demerits in life you know. With the weather up there have you at
least gone to a regular t-shirt rather that the tank top?

    It wouldn't make any difference.
He's part Italian. The T shirt would have holes in it.
