    Hi
Im sure someone out there in the UK can help.
I need someone to make for me a micro moisture detector. I remember building one in school when I was about 12 and it was quite big. I have no idea how to build one now but require one as small as possible that can run off a small watch battery and give off an audible sound.
    Many thanks

DRAFT READING OF HUMIDITY SENSOR WITH SOIL MOISTURE

It is essential to know the condition of the amount of water in the soil , that moisture influences on buildings , crops and even the irrigation of a garden , but as soil moisture is often very variable, constant need to make measurements in this medium . Thinking about it Usinainfo created a simple project with the goal of automating the specific needs of each person , whether the condition of the soil for planting trees and plants in general to the need for maintenance and irrigation of a garden . With its simple interface and using the Soil Moisture Sensor , their assembly and programming make the project even easier , the humidity sensor works with two types of communication , they are Digital and Analog .

    products Used

    - Soil Moisture Sensor for Arduino
    - Arduino Uno R3
    - Jumpers

    Communication Standard

The operation of the Soil Moisture Sensor is simple, it has two types of outputs : . A0 and D0 , where A0 is the analog channel , where we can get their accuracy because we received actual values in numbers 0-1023 Have D0 channel is a digital channel , it only works with 1 or 0 ( on or off) , to adjust the point where the sensor will connect this output , you can set using the potentiometer , found upon module humidity Sensor Solo.

    Physical mount ( Hardware )
The connections of components follow the following order:
    Arduino - Module : A0 - A0 ; 5v - Vcc ; GND - GND .

    Operation Program ( Software )

The software available only reads the Soil Moisture Sensor and presents data on the serial port , comparing the value with a pre - defined variable to connect the LED 13 and send to the serial notice that he is doing irrigation.

    Conclusions and suggestions

We indicate this Soil Moisture Sensor for geotechnical studies , due to the increased need for conscious and efficient use of water for irrigation , its communication system makes the response of instantaneous data have also noticed that the sensitivity of Moisture Sensor Soil improvement with the increased power , however this improvement is relatively independent of energy additionally provided .

The basic idea is very simple. You'll need a 3V lithium cell such as a CR2032. A small N-channel MOSFET can do the switching; the quiescent current will be very low. You can use a piezoelectric beeper for the alert - these are available with various options, but they're generally not very small.

D1 is needed to protect Q1's gate from damage. R can probably be omitted; D1's leakage will probably be enough to pull Q1's gate low when there's no path between the probes. But you can add R to decrease the circuit's sensitivity; reducing R will reduce the sensitivity even more.

    Suitable MOSFETs for Q1:

Alpha & Omega AO3416: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/AO3416/785-1011-1-ND/1855953 - this one has amazing specifications!

Check out Digikey's selection table for beepers.

They have lots of options. Most aren't very loud at 3V but a couple are (they're also a bit expensive):

A small battery like a CR2032 won't last a very long time with the beeper beeping.
