Mic not working in my Ipad?

what could be the issue as my mic in my ipad not working... how can i make it work?? any suggestions??

recheck all the settings and make sure that they are all correct
if they are ok then probably a hardware fault, to open and repair an Ipad would be reasonably specialised
you would be wise to take it to an authorised repairer
