I have been looking for plans to build a metal detector with my son, I
have found a few plans on the web but most have very shallow sense.
Does anyone know of plans for about 3" of depth? Any help would be
great thank you.

Surf over to http://www3.telus.net/chemelec/Projects/Projects.htm and take a
look at the Pulse Induction Metal Detector. I am interested in building one
of them.. just haven't the time right now. But it does look like a solid
design, and is well documented.
Cheers!!!!

Try http://metaldetector.bratsk-city.ru/master_ib.htm

The word ??????????????? apparently means metal something. It appears
okay in my browser but just shows ???s above. Cxema means schematic.
Anyway, have fun.
