Making leds pulse to bass

I want to make some LED strips pulse to the bass that comes out of my subwoofer (Logitech Z-906 subwoofer)
Money isnt a problem, ive heard that lots of stuff can ruin your sub or the leds and i want it to be safe!

Try a Velleman MK186 kit or buy the preassembled unit.
