MAKE Electronics Starting Over Advice

Hi, I just wanted to let you all know that I won't bother you about my starting over after this winter because I'm going to try to make this winter break the last time I start over the book. That said, I am starting in December, and I was wondering if I should buy the components pack for Experiments 1 to 12 since I don't want to have seventeen days between experiments. Then I'd save what I've already bought now to build something else.

I hope this doesn't seem like a waste of time question, since I don't wish to do so.

How much does the components pack cost? I'd suggest rewriting the two shopping lists starting on pages 1 and 39 so they're a brief list with one item per line then take an inventory of your parts, checking off the items you have. Post the list of parts you still need. It may be possible and cost effective to get them from Jameco, Electronic Goldmine or Circuit Specialists.

The components pack costs $109. On the other hand, my dad never has time to buy me parts, other than once every four weeks or so. It's a tough decision.
