I have serviced my McCulloch blower but on reassembly I have a wire from the kill switch which I dont know what to connect to. There are two wires from the magneto to the kill switch, and a third wire from the kill switch which terminates in a washer-type connector. Anybody know what this third wire is for? You can see it in upload_2021-1-30_11-56-23.pngthe circuit diagram from an earlier post - the earthed connector on the right of the kill switch.

This post is moved from a very old thread:

Sound like a ring terminal that goes through a bolt for grounding.

The kill switch may have a second wire to ensure a good ground.

The kill switch just grounds the exciter (primary) coil winding so no spark is produced.

That 3rd wire is to ground the magneto to turn it off and stop the blower.
Wire it TO the switch, so that when you throw the switch, the magneto is grounded and turns the blower off.
If you ground that third wire, without going through the kill switch, the blower won't start to begin with.
