Has anyone gotten their hands on any of the Luxeon K2s. Their factsheet
boasts 65 lumens per watt.
As far as I know there is no K2 product yet and no K2
datasheet. (Please correct me if I am wrong.) And the sell
sheet I see says 60 lm/W, not 65 lm/W.
There was a display in the Luxeon booth at Light Fair 2005
that showed the K2 as a "future" product." That important
fact was listed in small print on the display at Light Fair
but does not seem to be included on the sell sheet posted on
the Luxeon Web site at

Until we have a data sheet instead of a sell sheet it will
be impossible to even speculate what the real performance
is. Notice that the sell sheet says "up to 60 lm/W" so it
will be interesting to see what the typical and minimum
values are and how much they drop at realistic junction
temperatures.
