Hi,
My knowledge in electronics is limited with any help appreciated.

I am trying to hook up an equalizer "RR-131" 31-band from a radio to cut down hiss and the spec says 15K Ohms unbalanced and 20K Ohms balanced for the impedance input (less than 600 Ohms output). I am trying to connect standard either speaker or line out to it. Any ideas how to do this? The equalizer has both balanced and unbalanced input. The best I am able to do is get a distorted signal once it comes through the EQ.

Thanks!

Buck

hi Buck

welcome to the forums :)

the equaliser should be between the preamp and the main amp.

you cannot put that equaliser between the amp output and the speakers,
you will kill the equaliser. It wont handle many watts of power going into it

Perfect and thanks Dave!

Dave,

I was afraid I would not be able to use it. Thanks again for the great answer!

you can use it,
you just need to reconsider how to incorporate it into your system the correct way
that is .... can you access the point(s) between the preamp and power amp stages ?
