I'm looking for a timer that will run a 9vac motor 30 seconds every hour. I know nothing of electronics so any help would be appreciated. It's for an automatic egg turner I'm making for an incubator.

I would buy a 24 hour timer used for switching lights on at night.
They can be set to turn on every hour.
This can switch on a 9v power supply which activates a 555 timer.
The 555 can be programmed (with 2 resistors and a capacitor) to switch on for 30 seconds - activating a relay, which switches on your motor which is driven from the same 9v power supply.

No need to purchase a 24 hour timer if you are going to build a 555 circuit anyway...

You can do it with two timer circuits, or by using another counter circuit...

Look at this one for example, and Google up other 555 repeat timer circuits, you will find many more with delay and on triggers just like you require...
