So i am working on a project that needs a 7 wire connector, not big voltages or anything, just basically data, the most power that´ll be going through is 5v.

soemthing like the old smasung cable would look good:

but i dont know its name, anyway something that looks professional,

so impress me oh and something not too expensive to buy, though I don´t see how it can be...
thanks in advance!

USB 3 has nine pins, connectors are cheap and compact.
Any good?

Oh. Well, have a look on Digi-Key and Mouser. They have a very large range. You could spend hours looking. (And I often do!)

It may not be wise to use a connector that's used as standard for a different function.

I suggest some kind of round connector. Digi-Key have a huge range - see http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?pv1128=10&FV=fff40016,fff80519,160000a,160000f,160001a,160001b,160024f,16003b2,16003b3,16003b8,160040b&stock=1&quantity=0&pageSize=250

There are literally thousands of options there. They may be a bit pricey for your application. But probably worth a look.

Fair point, I wouldn't do this if I was making lots, but if it's a one off and you use the connections in the same order i.e make the power and GND the same and ensure the PCB runs on 5 Volts it should be ok.
