for an robotics project I'm looking for a router that can operate in a area of 1km radius, so just to be sure, the router should be able to operate on a area of 1.5km radius, on a rugged surface. the router should operate on 2.4ghz frequency. any kind of suggestion will be greatly appreciated. thanks

1.5 km is a very big ask for a 2.4ghz router especially in hilly terrain. If it is possible you would need a directional antenna And directional antennas only transimit/recieve in one direction.

/rough terrain and or non line of sight .... an extremely big ask for 2.4GHz it would require substantial power levels that would place you well outside the
ISM band power limitation specs, making licencing an issue

why a router ? explain more about what you are wanting to achieve
