Load on ldn150 constant current supply

With a LDN150 mosfet, a resistor is connected to the drain, the other side of resistor is connected to the gate,as a control resistor. The supply voltage of +40 v is to the source. Where would I put my load? I am thinking it is after the resistor, since this is a constant current supply. Am I thinking this right? Any help would be great.

A depletion mode FET together with a resistor connected between Source & Gate becomes a two-terminal current source. The two terminals are then Drain and Gate.
It is placed in series with the load (and the power supply). Look here for further explanations and diagrams.
