Hi,
I am looking for the replacement for LM358 SMD, which have operating temperature range from -30 to 70 degree C. Also the alternative IC should work on single supply.
Thanks,

The standard part is -55 to +125.

So, unless he needs it fail at -40 or +80, it should do.

The 358 is rated for operation down to 0C only. The far right column is for the LM2904.

Okay, I didn't look far enough down in the datasheet.

i think TL082 is identical. i used it in some circuits instead of lm358 and worked the same.

i think TL082 is identical. i used it in some circuits instead of lm358 and worked the same.
They are completely different:
1) The inputs of an LM358 work all the way down to its negative supply that can be 0V but the TL082 inputs fail and cause the output to go high if they are within a few volts from its negative supply.
2) The minimum supply for the LM358 is 3V but is 7V for the TL082.
3) The LM358 is low power with 2mA max idle supply current but is 5.6mA for the TL082.

The LM358 has a very poor slew rate and has bad crossover distortion. The TL082 has a good slew rate, no crossover distortion and has Jfet inputs that have no input bias current.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I will consider lM158, LM2904 and TL082. I have also found 2 more alternate ICs for LM358 with same pinouts and my requirements.
1) RC4558I
2) MC1458IDT

Can I consider these 2?

Thanks,
Chets

Yes i have checked their their datasheets.

And did they specify an operating temperature range that included the range you require?

1) Yes RC4558I and has the range.

2) MC1558 from TI

And MC1458IDT from STMicroelectronics also have required temp range.

There are thousands of dual opamps with the same pinout; it is an (unwritten) international standard.

As above, there is much more to an acceptable substitute than just the pinout. The LM358 has input, output, and power characteristics that are *not* standard, and neither of the two parts you mention have them. In some circuits they will work as a substitute, but in many they will not. Can you post a portion of you schematic so we can evaluate your choices?

There is no specific circuit, I use LM358 in various signal conditioning circuits as an amplifier or simply as a buffer.

There are 2 reasons for why I am searching for the alternative:
1.I am upgrading all the components in the design for negative operating temp, so LM358 should be replaced.

2.I am observing failure of this IC in most of the application. So I am searching for the replacement of this IC other than LM358 family.

Maybe it isn't the part, but the way it is being applied.
