    If you mean compared to an op-amp, the LM311 can switch much faster.

  4. I'm suspicious of "op-ampère" as a translation of opamp.

    But in any event, I think the original poster was wondering about the
    advantages of an open collector comparator, as opposed to the kind with a
    push-pull output like that of an opamp. One advantage is you can put many
    open-collector outputs in parallel, to get a logical "or" of all the
    outputs. There are plenty others - just look at comparator circuits.
