Hi,

I'd like to know if any available software for creating pattern
(a simple pattern black and white rectangles) with a precision up to 10 micron.
And I can print the output on normal paper with laser printing (1200 dpi).

Thanks for any helps,
sant

Our experience with printing on slides on an HP laserjet 4 (supposedly
1200 dpi) is that 20 um is the best resolution you can achieve, and
with poor reproducibility. Most important is the fact that laser
printers
will not provide lines dark enough for lithography (some of the UV light
will go through pinholes in the ink). We either have to give the design
to a professional printing shop (~4 euros/sheet) or use optical
reduction
(using photography development equiment). Also be aware that on some
slides,
granular structure might affect the lithographic process and become
apparent at a later stage.

For the pattern generation, I use either xfig (unix) or diretly program
in postscript for periodic patters. A colleague of mine uses CleWin
as available at http://www.wieweb.com/ie/index.html
