My LCD monitor used to turn on very quickly after pressing the power button.
Recently, when I press the power button, the monitor doesn't seem to turn on immediately: the screen remain black and the power-on LED is turned off.
After a while the screen turns on and also the power-on LED. Once it's on, it works perfectly. It seems that it takes more and more time for the monitor to turn on after pressing the button.
I'll try to repair it - any ideas what to look for ?

I'm thinking it's either the power supply or the inverter for the light tubes.
Both those circuits are of the switching supply type which I understand reasonably well. What puzzles me is that the monitor only has problems starting, but after then it works very well.
Any ideas what type of defects exhibit this behavior ?
