hi:
it's true. only one in my catalogs - can't find the hosfelt cat, but
they're high $. i went to EEM and found some mfgs - even saw the keypad
from my tricorder (no kiddin' - trilithic SLM), but nothing like what
i'm looking for without a special order, i think.
i'm looking for something <= $15 encoder optional. the encoder would
have to be cheaper than 8 gen. purp. diodes. yeah, i optimise everything
but some of my posts
0-9, menu, up and dn arrows (optional- i can use menu to drill down),
enter, and maybe on/off and 2nd
16 keys 4x4 scanned matrix
tactile or non
1.5 - 2 sq.in.
i already found a 3x3" approx. and want a smaller one. the damn thing's
$16+ and $7 or so for the encoder. and the headers are xtra!
so before i go with switches, if anyone's seen a source for single
units, please give a shout.
and if anyone knows of a 16x2 to 20x2 character LCD w/HD44780 compat
controller under 3" wide, i'm interested. they all seem to be 3" wide.
fit my van inside 'em.
a case made to fit all that and mount a PCB would be the balls.
TIA,
mike
