Laser

I want to activate a sensor with a Laser but the Laser must stay on in order to activate a sequence The ones I see are pointers and are only on when the button is pressed.
I would appreciate any advice....Thanks...colum

Bypass the on-off switch.

Maybe a set of these.
No idea what the range is but I'm guessing maybe a metre or so given the restrictions on laser power in hobby or whatever.
