If I have a 450v 16,666uf Cap which is 1687 Joules, but I only charge the Cap to 220v DC does that mean my Cap now only has 403 Joules??

So in other words if I lower the Caps Volts in half, Joules are 4 times less?

    Thanks guys.

yes, halve the voltage, quarter the energy stored.
