Kenwood XD-701 - Protection flashing

Hello,

Kenwood XD-701 (mini system) is after accidental contact of the
speaker wires still going into protection mode. After startup-sequence
main relay turns off and display starts flashing "protection".
There is a amp board with some STK IC, 3 relays, few transistors...
What should I check? How can I check if the protection is OK or how
can I bypass it to check the power IC?
When I disconnect amp board from main (biggest) board, hifi operates
OK but of course without sound. Does the cable connecting amp and main
board contain only sound signals or protection signal too? Can
somebody send me service manual?

Thank you very much,
Rado.

Chances are the STK IC on the channel you shorted is blown and will need
replacing, that's about the only thing that ever goes.
