Repairing iPod/iPhone frayed connector by replacing it with new one
I've bought following iPhone/iPod car Fm Transmitter from eBay
After a little while the connector cable frayed and soon it stopped working. So I thought I'd just get a new iphone usb cable, cut it in half and connect the connector head part to the frayed cable. But when I cut the two cables I saw that iphone charger cable has only 4 wires inside whereas the cable on the fm transmitter had 5 of them. Now I'm very confused about this. How come when both cables do the same thing but have different internals? Do you think I can still fix my fm transmitter?
