  2. I think that circuit, the basic 2-transistor astable, is a challenge
to get convergence using *any* version of Spice.

  3. One simply uses a vswitch to force a node at start-up, than disconnects
    it after say, 1ns.

    "Understanding" itself requires consciousness,
    therefore consciousness cannot be "understood"
without referring to itself for the explanation,
therefore the "hard problem" of consciousness,
is intrinsically unsolvable as it is self referral.

  4. Your 'simply' might be Rex's 'challenge'.

I think a slightly simpler approach than yours is possible, as shown
    here:

  5. The reason for my suggestion is that it it always works. It makes sure
that there is only *one* solution for spice to converge to.

o.k. no problem, how do I do this?

  7. Place a voltage controlled switch on the schematic. Place a pulse
generator on to the schematic. Wire them up.

I don't think that CircuitMaker has such a feature though I may be
wrong. Also, the above link is not from CircuitMaker. Anyway,
if you know how to specify an initial node can you please say how
you did it, but if not then I can say that I managed to get it to work.
I simply changed the max-step parameter of the transient analysis
from what it was, 1S to 2S. Don't ask me why but it works with 2S
    but not with 1S. Weird.

  9. Yes, you are, it does.
A LINK from an ECAD program? Or do you mean to say the circuit I
published was not created in CircuitMaker? If so, then you're wrong
    about that too.
Hey, Kevin - you trying to outdo Jim Thompson's signal-to-sig ratio?
