Is it safe to take a Tek 2430 apart?

  1. I read somewhere that there is a battery in the Tektronics 2430 scope, and
if you remove it, the scope needs to be recalibrated by a service
technician. I would like to strip down my 2430 because I suspect a
connection has shifted loose in transit, but am concerned that I may disturb
the battery. Can anyone give me some pointers on if there are any things I
should be aware of in removing boards in the scope? Any help wpuld be
    appreciated.

    Regards,

    There's a 3V lithium battery on a top-side PCB,that maintains the memory
for the cal constants.IIRC,the battery was originally soldered in,then
modded for a holder.I don't know how far you can go in disassembly w/o
losing the cal constants.I don't believe you have to worry about
    'disturbing' the battery,though.
