go look at the lamp manufaturers web sites.. eg phillips, osram
etc. or contact the sports associations who deal with the sports
that are played in your arena. they normally can specify whats
needed.

Zoran, the one for North America is the IESNA "Sports and Recreational
Facilities" Recommended Practice RP-6-01 (2001). There is also a
substantial amount of information in the IESNA Handbook. The Ninth Edition
(2000) is the current one. Both are extensively referenced usually to CIE
and IESNA papers.

Both are listed on the IESNA web site which is http://www.iesna.org The
information is not on line.

The CIE has one standard that seems to apply. It's "Lighting for Sports
Halls" (58-1983). I'm not familiar with all of the CIE publications,
however. You can see more at http://www.cie.co.at
