IC's number needed

is there anyway to retrieve IC number if its removed from body? i found IC from a 12V DC to 220V AC Inverter circuit & number was removed. anyone know any way???

I would say your best option is to try and recreate a circuit diagram from the board in question in as much detail as possible. Then maybe it will become clear to someone what the function of the IC is. If it is simple enough then someone may be able to suggest an alternate. But in reality with no markings the best case scenario is a long shot. And if its a programmable part then game over.

many manufacturers do that to stop others copying their equip.
it also sets them or their agents up to be the only repairer
