icom 302 radio

I can not figure out what the component is. It attached the main board to the antenna socket. Its pink with no markings and 2 leads, 1 out of the top and another out of the bottom. It is cylindrical like a resistor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

to get that image, you obviously must have the service manual ... I cannot access one online....
what does the circuit schematic diagram say for that part ? its labelled W2

your next questions are going to be....

1) why does it look like a resistor or capacitor.?

well manufacturers will often use jumpers encased in plastic or ceramic as it gives the wire some diameter for the parts placer robot to be able to pick up and place.

2) why use a jumper ?

They often use a jumper to connect the antenna socket to the PCB to provide some vibration flexibility

Lol thanks a ton I figured I was reading it wrong, I thought it was an actual component not just a wire.
