    1. Have you ever worked with ICs?

    2. Have you ever had an IC malfunction?

    3. Have you ever had to rebuild a circuit because you couldn’t figure out the problem?

    4. Were you able to determine the problem with the IC?

    5. Would you be willing to pay for a device that identifies each gate of an IC as working or not working?

    Yes, yes, yes, yes, no.

    Most ICs I would be using would be far cheaper to replace than to diagnose. I always buy 3 of anything for a 1-off project, and usually have 2 left over.
