I don't know about that. I prefer wine to beer ;-) And spend
about $2K/month eating in fine restaurants.
Having made both wine and beer - a lot more art goes into beer
than wine - and fine beer is harder to get than "fine" wine -
oops, there I am whining again.
I learned to cook.
I married a master-chef-level cook ;-)

Me too, but tonight it's my treat: Ham and potato casserole.
Three layers of Yukon Gold potatoes skinned and sliced into 1/4"
rounds and laid out into a 2 qt buttered casserole dish, each layer
dusted with flour, salt and pepper, sprinkled with coarse juliennes
of Honey-baked ham and a few pats of butter.
Just the kind of warm we need in order to get over the gray days
that have settled over us recently.
Sun's out now, must have been the right thing to do.
Anyway, the last decision: Cheese on top? ... Naah.
Sounds good! That's the kind of "soul food" I like to do. I make a
really nice meat loaf. When we had kids at home they would request
it at least once a week.
