i need advice with my Pioneer CDX-FM1237S CD changer

i have a CDX-FM1237S and it jammed one of it's trays. i disassembled it and removed the jammed tray. after i got it put back together i tested it out. when it went to read the disc the disc drive wont open to except the disc. how is it suppose to work? can anyone tell me?

It's possible that there are gears that have to be in a particular position. Maybe there is part of the internal mechanism that is at the fully open stop while the tray is fully in.

Open it up again and try turning the motor shaft to see how the tray is ejected and see if you can catch what's wrong.

I'm going to say that it is most likely gear positioning, having fixed several disc drawers before.
Of course it might be just that Pioneer is not terribly high quality stuff, but that doesn't help anyone.

edit: When you push the open/load button can you hear a motor spinning? Also, how does the player react? Does it think you have inserted a disc, or does it just keep waiting for you to do something?
