Ineed to hook up with someone who never throws anything away. I'm trying to find a Cinch #299-24-00-009. This is an obsolete telephone cable connector. Check through your junk boxes and send me an e-mail. I've tried all of the usual suspects with no success. Help

It strikes me that your "packrat" may not actually know what a Cinch #299-24-00-009 looks like. I certainly wouldn't.

Perhaps you can supply a picture?

edit: p.s. I suppose you've Googled?

The part I need, as I understand it, is a 25-pin pass-through connector with a bank of 5 standard phone connectors on the top side. So far as I know, they stopped making these sometime in the '80's. I've tried Newark, amphenol cinch, etc. And of course I googled it.

FYI, 1 Source has a 250.00 min. I need 2 of these (approx. cost 20.00 plus shipping) hence my current approach to locating same.

Alternate for obsolete connector

OK Got no takers on the first try so we'll try a different approach. Does anyone know if ther is a current alternative for the Cinch 299-24-00-009. Iknow that the 007 is stil generally available, but Ihave noreference to see if that will work. Help please.

OK, the main problem is that we (certainly *I*) don't know what these things look like.

When you say "5 standard phone connectors" I'm not sure if you mean rj11 sockets or perhaps krone blocks, or even (shudder) 600 series sockets.

Perhaps you could tell us what it has to do, and the constraints you are under.

I need a packrat part III

First, I am not an electronics expert by any stretch of the imagination. The part number was taken from the one example that I have and bluntly I can't take it out of service to take a picture of it, even if I had the capability which I don't. It is a male-female 25-pin connector which in my case is installed on an obsolete phone system. The plugs are the same as are in current use in the U.S. for most hardline telephone apps. Hope this helps.
