I gotta quit installing motherboards stoned...

So, I wind up buying the boss a new motherboard for the computer that
happened to die while I was the one sitting at it. While taking out the
old MB, I pulled loose all the front panel connectors, not thinking
to find out which was which first. So, now, it's time to plug them
into the new MB, and I'm going, "Now lessee ..." Do I probe the LEDs
with an ohmmeter? No, an LEDs Vf is more than an ohmmeter typically
has. Hmmm. So, I guess I'll have to take off the front panel and trace
the silly things out. Hmm. Two SPST NO momentary PB switches, a green
LED, and a red LED. With a connector each. A red/white to the red LED,
green/white to the green LED, red/black to "Power," and blue/white
to "Reset."

The reason I say "stoned" is because before I pulled the panel, that
bundle of colored wires with all those connectors looked like a
nightmare. When I pulled them off, it _felt_ like more than 4, 2-pin
connectors. If I'd realized there's four of them instead of sixteen
or whatever - I probably could have figured out which was which.

Well, there's a positive side - the white wire of each is connected
to the lead closest to the flat on the LED base. I otherwise would
have had to lash up something to verify the polarity.

Must be good shit! %~}

Plus, concurrently, I get to keep the old MB and the old PS, since
I had to buy a new PS - the old one was obsolete. And there's a
possibility that it'll still run from floppy. ;-)

D'ya suppose I could do some bitbanging in DOS 6 with MSC 5 at
600 MHz? ;-) i.e. use it in the H/WBNC in another thread?

More on that in that thread, I'm feeling chatty tonight ...

Cheers!
