A small sum? The two-manual set goes for over $200 on eBay, if
one shows up at all. I have both manuals for my 4275A, but don't
yet have any manuals for my 4274A. I just lost the bidding on a
4274A service manual because I stopped at $125. See what I mean?

I haven't found anyone selling a CD of these manuals. The 4275A
manuals are bound in such a way that copying them would damage
the spine, so I'm reluctant to lend them out for that purpose.

Hi, Wayne. You can get your operating manual tomorrow for $40 USD plus
shipping from Manuals Plus. I've dealt with them several times, and
found them to be very helpful.

Speaking from some experience, the time and effort to either try to
figger out an instrument like this or scrounge the manual are never
worth it. Better just to buy it. Manuals are irreplaceable for using
complex instruments well.

Manufacturer: AGILENT(HP)

It's a good meter. By the way, HP didn't make this one themselves. I
don't believe HP/Agilent has provided any significant support for this
meter for at least 5 years. If you're looking for the manual because
you're considering buying, caveat emptor.

Good luck
Chris

I once saw a copier designed to copy books. It was in a library,
so I suppose copies were covered by "fair use" or something. The
glass went right to the edge of the copier, so you didn't have
to open the book more than 90 degrees, making it really easy
on the spine. I have no idea where you'd get one, or if there
are scanners like that - if you took the whole manual to the
library, it'd only cost about fifteen cents a page, or maybe
more nowadays.

Good Luck!
Rich

Caveat emptor because they tend to go bad? Are they worse than any other
old test equipment?
Good luck
Chris

Point of reference...

4274 and 4275 are both Multi-frequency LCR meters
for anyone else who was curious.
