Recently i trying to purchase ferrite/air core inductor from local electronics store. They asked the diameter an length of the ferrite. they said i have to wind the coil based on my requirement.

    1. How to design inductor?
    2. How to measure inductor value?

    Thanks in advance

And as well as that you need to know the specifications of the ferrite core.

Because the inductance will depend on the number of turns and the permittivity of the core.

The size of the core (cross sectional area) determines the maximum flux before it saturates -- but this also depends on the core material.
