how much do we need??

My wife and I will be moving to WA in Jan. our house is Off-grid as I
have stated b4......my ? is if we r running nothing all the time and
only using 26 watts of lite, running a 25" TV ,a WEBTV unit,a dish
network box,and a Playstation2 DVD/CD maybe 4-5 hours a day they will
not all B runing at the same time ever (TV +WEBTV or TV+ Playstation or
TV and the Dish) ........how much SOLAR would I need to have to keep
batterys charged ?.......I have ideas of a 5 day power supply in the
Battery bank....will I be able to do that? or will that many Batterys
take up "Football field"
our house is only 16.5'x 16.5' TIA for any advice : )

There's an old statistics joke about estimating the number of piano
tuners in New York city, with the lesson being that inaccuracies
cancel themselves out, mostly.
What's a bit freaky is that your setup reminds me of my first few
months off-grid. More or less, you're going to burn 50 to 100 12v AH
per day. So, in five days, you'll burn about 500. Saying that a deep
battery can usually give up 35-40% safely, that means that your bank
will need to be about 1500 AH. So, what, say, two 800AH 6v batteries,
quick and dirty estimate.

Make that FOUR 800 AH 6V batteries, if your estimate of 500 x 12v AH is
right => That's 6 kWH. Divided by .40 (desired max discharge depth) =>
15 kWH.

2 x 800 x 6v AH is 9.6 kWH. So, you could get by with 3 such batteries,
but 4 would give you 19.2 kWH capacity.

Well thank you guys for the info.....I know I am prolly gonna get
scolded fer' this but here goes can I use a Batt bank made up of 6
115Ahr like Deepcycle batteries hooked together as one run out thru a
2500 watt inverter and a 300 watt one ? charged everyday for a coupla'
hours each day with a 60 amp charger from a Generator for a year or so?
Its what I have axcess to now : )
