when making 300 bricks of adobe?
and how much insolation do you need?
I'm wondering because I'd like to build a house in NW Montana
but naysayers are telling me the moisture is a prohibitive concern.
Additionally, anyone out there using solar panels up in the rocky mountains
shoveling off snow? I'm thinking I can build a greenhouse and use it to
bake the brick rather than pack three cords of wood to fire up a kiln.

Dont see why. The techneque has been used all around the world fo
several thousand years.

How do you think they make regular brick!? It's not like there's a galactic
counsel that divies out cosmic bricks to each solar system. I visited the
earliest surviving christian church in Rome once where they had dug up the
floor and there were remains of a brick foundry that they had used to build
the church. Typically no, adobe isn't fired. What you do with it is your
business though.

If you are going to make "Adobe" the process is air dried. Then there
are pressed mud bricks (these are not the same as puddled adobe) Then
there is cob construction.

Fired clay bricks are not "Adobe". Fact.

The Romans were very good at fired clay bricks. But nort even the Pope
gets Cosmic bricks. Earth is not on tne shipping route.

Before you get carried away by the .au on my posts you should realise
that I grew up in San Diego and know the difference between "Adobe" and
Fired Clay".

If you want to fire your own bricks the method used by the romans was
quite easy and effective. It was all in the stacking. The kiln was the
bricks for the most part.

I read up on it some. They had to fire all the bricks twice; all the bricks
that made up the kiln were then placed inside; then a kiln was built around
them, the ricks being the next to be fired; it still takes a lot of wood to
do it. I'm going to read up on Roman bricks. bye,
