I have a torroidal transformer rated in VA and want to ensure it can deliver enough power.
It's slightly different from the one used in the building instructions for my project, but I'll be using a different (and improved) power supply circuit anyway.
The original project mentions using a transformer rated "15-0-15v 1A and 7.65V 0.4A" while my torroidal transformer is labelled "2 x 15V 55VA". How many Amps can it deliver?

    3.6a at 15v.
The use of electrolytic's also increase the Va requirements of a supply.
