How Earth-Scale Engineering Can Save the Planet

VRWC5 said:
Of course they have not done ANYTHING but a dog and pony show to add
substance to that "vow" because the only real goal of the whole
"global warming" industry is to extract money from U.S. Taxpayers and
to shutdown the enormous productivity of the world's most powerful
economic engine so all the little losers of the world can finally feel
taller.

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed -
and hence clamorous to be led to safety - by menacing it with an
endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
- H. L. Mencken

"At this point in the debate, it is intellectually dishonest and
borders on fraudulent to continue to maintain that there is any
reasonable basis to fear a coming climate apocalypse. Yet the
scientific establishment continues to grind out tortured "studies"
to prove black is white. Those involved in this charade are doing
lasting damage to science and the reputations of scientists. Hell,
you are no different than the worst lawyers - you will say whatever
people want you to say so long as you are paid."
-Fred Palmer, president of the Greening Earth Society.

Bless those American conspiracywhackos. Faced with overwhelming evidence
they behave like ostriches and want to blame their government.

And why is it that such clowns are exclusively American anyway ? Is it
simply poor education over there ?

They are not exclusively American. David Bellamy, Jack Barrett, Benny Peiser,
Sir Colin Berry, and Philip Stott are all British sceptics. See;

It is just that the amount of oil money in the US is much greater, so more
skeptics can be financed there!

Cheers, Alastair.

Sceptics are one thing. Indeed I've played 'devil's advocate' re: global warming
myself in the past.

What gets me about the US is the number of 'freelance whackos' who love to go
online to peddle the supposed wisdom of their half-dead so-called 'brains'.
Nothing to do with oil money at all.

Bellamy being the best, and saddest, illustration of the power of oil
dollars.

C. did some work for BP, and I tagged along for a week in London.
Given the choice between working for Greenpeace and BP, I know which
one is the more lucrative choice. They say you won't sleep well at
night, but the US $750/night hotel was pretty comfortable.

Why not? You are in the best position to 'call sinners to repentance'.
Hanging around with Greenpeace is preaching to the choir.

That's my excuse, anyway. (;-)

They do come up with some nice stuff for the glossy annual reports.
Stewardship and all that sort of thing, as well as compliance.

No disrespect intended towards legitimate wackos, but there actually is a
new PR phenomenon where corporations are paying people to run and post to
various blogs, both as advocates on right wing blogs and as hecklers on left
wing ones.

Sounds like a leftist wet dream to me. Leftist just don't have ANY

Global Warming is defined as the increase of the average temperature on Earth. As the Earth is getting hotter, disasters like hurricanes, droughts and floods are getting more frequent. But it is not only about how much the Earth is warming, it is also about how fast it is warming. There have always been natural climate changes – Ice Ages and the warm intermediate times between them.
