It would be nice to have the system armed and also have a window
    partially opened..

Thanks for suggestions on how to accomplish this....

  2. Mount your switch on the side of the window casing. Then use two different
magnets on the window itself. One positioned to oppose the switch when the
window is down and the second to oppose the switch in the partially open
position. Be sure and have the partially open position small enough that
someone can't come through without moving the window. Also, mount the
switch assembly high enough that someone can't reach through the window to
    tamper with it.

I had a few customers in which I install a row of magnets along side the
switch so he can open his window without disarming the system. This was
    before vent switches came out.

Install to NC contacts in parallel or two NO contacts in series.
